Community Garden Work Day Planned
From Jeremy Brennan:
This saturday beginning at 9 is the next community garden work day. Bring your shovels, lopers, etc. so we can continue to clean off the sidewalk. Once we get all the debris off, it would be good to run an edger to help keep it clean. I have an electric trimmer that works well an edger, but if someone else has a better edger it would be more effective since that walk hasn't been edged for years.
I think it would be fun to have a lunch/cookout after the work day. If George will lend us some of his shade, I think it should work.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Peacocks!

From Anthony Clark:
Morning neighbors! On my way out of the neighborhood this morning I saw three peacocks on the corner of Main & Latimer. As I was taking the photos a city bus zoomed by. I called the Mayor's Action Center and they are going to try to route it out to the appropriate person - whomever that may be. If you know anyone in or around the neighborhood that has peacocks please spread the word that they're in danger.

June Association Meeting
Make plans to attend this month's neighborhood association meeting, Saturday, June 21st at 10am. The association's monthly meetings are held at Centenary United Methodist Church at the corner of Golden and North Denver. Please enter through the South door.
At the meeting we will learn about "Green Collar" homes. A Green Collar home is an energy efficient home with a reduced carbon footprint that saves you money. Home energy costs run about $3000 per year for an average home, yet much of that is lost through inefficiencies. According to the EPA, for each $1 saved on annual energy bills, a home's value jumps $10 to $25.
We'll learn from Green Collar Energy about how investments to improve air quality, add healthy filters and seal ducts can cut your utility bills and add value to your home. Find out more at GreenCollarEnergy.com.

Garden Workday
Hey gardeners,
We have a pile of branches and cut logs in the back of the garden property that needs to be moved to the curb for the final round of storm pickup. This should be done by the end of the wkend to ensure that it is taken by the city. Could you take some time out of your schedules this wk to come over and move a few branches? I would also like to schedule an informal work day for this saturday at 9 to finish moving any branches that remain, but if everyone moves them before that date it will be unnecessary.
I would also like to do a real workday(funday) on the 28th from 9-12. We will do a cookout lunch after at the garden.
Thanks,
Jeremy
